	This is English USA, on the Voice of America. Now, Lesson 75, Part 1.

	MARTIN:	Good evening. I'm looking for the manager. Is it Mrs. Passantino?
	MISS P:	It's Miss Passantino. I'm Miss Passantino.
	MARTIN:	Good evening. I'm Martin Learner. I called this morning about doing an interview with you this evening.
	MISS P:	That wasn't me. That was Mrs. Feliccia. She's the day manager. I'm the night manager.
	MARTIN:	I'm sorry.
	MISS P:	No problem. What do you want? An interview?
	MARTIN:	Yes. Could I interview you about this laundromat?
	MISS P:	Why? What for? Who did you say you are?
	MARTIN:	I'm Martin Learner. I'm a reporter for the Voice of America. I want to interview you about this place. I want to ask you questions about the place, what goes on in here, what you do. That kind of question.
	MISS P:	It's just a laundromat. People come here to wash their clothes.
	MARTIN:	That's what I want to know about. Who comes here. Why they come here. Why they come at night. Our listeners will be interested.
	MISS P:	They will? I guess that's all right. I'm not busy right now.
	MARTIN:	May I record?
	MISS P:	It's OK.
	MARTIN:	Where can we sit?
	MISS P:	Come back here. This is my office.
	MARTIN:	Your office!?
	MISS P:	Two chairs and my coffee cup. Sit down.
	MARTIN:	Let's talk about your office then.
	MISS P:	I don't really need an office. The day manager does all the office work.
	MARTIN:	What kind of work is that?
	MISS P:	Any kind of records. She also arranges for repairs or any work like that. I just leave her a note when I leave in the morning.
	MARTIN:	How many hours do you work?
	MALE:	Excuse me, could I have some change? The machine isn't working.
	MISS P:	Which one?
	MALE:	The one beside the door.
	MISS P:	Did you try the one by the soft drink machine?
	MALE:	Yes, it's empty.
	MISS P:	OK. How much? Two dollars? OK.
	MALE:	Thanks.
	MISS P:	That's what I do mostly. I take care of everything.
	MARTIN:	Let's talk about where everything is. Are these all washing machines?
	MISS P:	Yes. The ones in front are the smaller washers. Next to them are the big washers.
	MARTIN:	Does Mrs. Feliccia do all the work in the daytime?
	MISS P:	No. She has a helper to wash the clothes. Excuse me a minute. I'll have to help that man. He doesn't know how to operate the dryer.
	MARTIN:	Where is the dryer?
	MISS P:	Under the window. Those are dryers.
	MARTIN:	Could I watch?
	MISS P:	I don't mind.
