1. wait for 〜 「〜を待つ」 前置詞 for を落とさないこと。

5. take the elevator to 〜 「〜 までエレベーターに乗る（〜で行く）」乗るという場合には「〜に乗る（動作）」と「〜に乗って行く（行為）」は区別しておく必要がある。
cf.
take the train to Atami.　（熱海まで電車で行く）
get on the train at Track 17. 　（17番線の電車に乗る）

7. get off　ここ（I get off on the tenth floor.）では「〜から降りる」 ではなく、「降りる」ということであるが、前後の関係からいうと、 get off the elevator の意味。
on the tenth floor 「10階で」　イギリスだと「1階(ground floor)」「2階(first floor)」「3階(second floor)」となるから tenth floor は「11階」ということになる。

8. down the hallway　= along the hallway　 「廊下を（〜に沿って）」この down は I run down the street. (Unit 2, Practice 1) の場合と同じ。hallway はここでは「廊下」のことであるが、このほかに「玄関間（玄関を入ったところの広い部分）」という意味にも使われる。ただの hall もいわゆる「ホール（広間）」のほかに、hallway と同じ意味に用いられれる。 e.g. at the end of the hall （廊下の突き当たりに）
